Self Driven wine tour of Spain's famous wine region of Rioja perfect for enthusiasts who want to see the magic of wine.

A weekend to explore one of the best lands for vineyard growing in the wine producing world. Visiting Laguardia, one of the most perfectly preserved medieval villages in Spain; and the church of Santa María de los Reyes which has an extraordinary polychromatic portico, the finest in Spain.

During the weekend you will visit two of the best wineries of the region followed by a tasting of their unique wines. Lunch will be based on traditional Riojan cuisine in a restaurant looking for a balance between modernity and tradition.

A weekend to explore one of the best lands for vineyard growing in the wine producing world. Visiting Laguardia, one of the most perfectly preserved medieval villages in Spain; and the church of Santa María de los Reyes which has an extraordinary polychromatic portico, the finest in Spain.

Laguardia is located in Rioja Alavesa, where its inhabitants are devoted exclusively to the vineyard production. This fact makes the ´tempranillo` grape reach quality peaks very difficult to reach in other areas. The underground of this village is crossed by the wine cellars of ´Caves` (Cuevas) excavated under the houses and streets at about 6 meters deep. The town still has its original medieval layout with a good number of fortified towers still surviving.
